Preserving the Heart and Heritage of the Breed Located just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, Southern Soul is a dedicated small-scale breeder specializing in quality AKC and ASCA-registered Australian Shepherds and AKC Miniature American Shepherds (formerly known as Mini Aussies). With over 18 years of experience living with and loving this incredible breed, Australian Shepherds are more than just dogs to us—they’re part of our soul. At Southern Soul, our mission is to produce dogs that are not only structurally sound and true to breed standards but also possess exceptional temperaments and sound minds. Our dogs are bred to be versatile partners—excelling in performance sports, therapy work, conformation, and most importantly, as loyal and active family companions. You’ll often find us spending our weekends at dog shows and trials, proudly showcasing our dogs and celebrating the breed we love. Health and integrity are the foundation of our breeding program. All of our breeding dogs come from top champion lines with multiple generations of health testing, including OFA evaluations and full genetic panels. We are committed to producing puppies free from hereditary issues that could affect their quality of life—or yours.
