We are a small breeder located just outside Charlotte, NC. We focus on quality AKC and ASCA Australian Shepherds. Here at Southern Soul, we strive to produce dogs that are structurally correct meeting the breed standard, with sound minds and great temperaments. We breed/raise Aussies that are versatile and excel in just about anything. (Performance sports, service dogs, conformation, and loyal pets) All of our dogs live in the house with us year round. They travel and vacation with us just like a member of our family, because to us that is exactly what they are. Our dogs are our children. We do not have a kennel and do not believe kennels are a proper lifestyle for Australian Shepherds. Aussies are known as "velcro dogs" who want to be with their human(s), and that's where ours spend their time. We breed for quality, not quantity. It is our goal to produce dogs that do not have issues that will effect them or their owners. Our breeding stock comes from champion lines with generations of health testing. Any dogs that have any known hereditary problems (health or temperament) that will effect them or their owners in any way, are simply not bred. Any responsible breeder should do this to improve future generations of the breed. Here at Southern Soul we preserve and protect the Australian Shepherd breed we are so passionate about.
